My name is Richard Beckerman, Esq., and I was born in Queens, New York, before being raised in Nassau County in a family of professionals who instilled in me the values of hard work and compassion. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware and received my Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law in 2008.
After being admitted to practice, I began my career at a boutique matrimonial law firm handling high-asset cases, where I developed the skills necessary to effectively guide clients through some of the most challenging times in their lives. I later joined a prominent divorce firm in Queens, where I served as Senior Litigation Associate. In that role, I led major trials for five years and represented clients in complex and high-stakes matters, including contested custody disputes and cases involving businesses and real estate valued in the millions.
Over time, I built a strong reputation among judges and fellow attorneys for both trial advocacy and skilled negotiation. Many of my clients came to me after prior counsel had been unable to effectively manage their cases. While I take pride in resolving most matters through strategic negotiation—saving clients the time and expense of trial—I am fully prepared to litigate when necessary to protect my clients’ interests.
In 2017, I was honored to be named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, recognizing me among the top 2.5% of family law attorneys in New York under 40. I was also named one of the Top 10 Family Law Attorneys in New York by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys.
I later co-founded Beckerman and Granados PLLC to provide clients with personalized, high-quality legal representation tailored to their unique needs. Our firm is dedicated to protecting our clients’ assets and interests efficiently and cost-effectively, while delivering strong advocacy both in and out of the courtroom.
